Subject: Car Audio Related: Stupid "Anti Boom" site
Heya, I noticed in one of your previous updates you discussing your car stereo. Having found this persons site posted on many forums and mailing lists, I thought you might be interested. He is of the opinion that all car stereo's are evil, and the mere act of owning a sub should be a crime. Site can be found here: http://members.aol.com/mpwright9/boom1.html
Below is a copy of his reply to an email I sent questioning one of his pages:

It is always interesting to see someone so dedicated to a cause they are willing to ignore any opinion other than their own, and ignore the problem that "facts" are often a useful tool in an argument. Your tag next to your email "(Email from boom car boys and car audio freaks is prohibited.)" is hilarious. It seems you are truly blind to any argument, and only wish to hear from likeminded people who think all car stereos are evil and we should be listening to AM radio at a whisper.
Personally, I found your article "OU Student Can't Hear Train Bells Because of Car Radio" amazing. I have never seen anything taken so out of context, with so little fact to back up the opinions stated.
As soon as I heard about this accident I suspected that Mark Goodnight's radio was playing loudly, and was a factor in the tragedy, although I do not have the direct evidence. Police department policy should require officers to look for evidence of loud car stereos during accident investigations. The powerful bass speakers for boom cars (for which any sane city policy would require confiscation) are usually stored in the trunk.
So even though you have zero evidence, a fact you admit to, you are happy to assume the stereo was the major factor in this case. Not, as pointed out by the letter you quote, the poor positioning of the signal lights, or the possibly poorly chosen whistle frequency. The notion that any subwoofer should be confiscated is absurd. Are you aware that many cars now come with subwoofers as a standard feature? The Subaru Liberty B4 is an example. While there are those who choose to distort the music with obscene amounts of bass, there are those that enjoy a rich blend, with everything from nice clean highs to smooth lows. It doesn't mean it has to be loud, just nice.
You further discuss the danger to emergency vehicles by cars "sound proofed" by loud stereos. What about high end luxury cars, such as the BMW 7 series and top even Mercedes? These cars come from the factory designed to be dead to the outside world, are they just as much a menace as cars with loud stereos?
I must say, your site always makes for an interesting read, though the extreme bias and twisting of fact end up leaving me feeling like I have just read the ramblings of an insane person.
Michael Phillip Wright replies:
You are absolutely INSANE to think for one minute that I care about your trash "opinion." Except for the fact that you can annoy people, you are WORTHLESS, UNIMPORTANT, and INSIGNIFICANT.
You must be really crying for attention to think that you are going to be taken seriously by me. What a laugh.
I didn't even read your trashy note, except for the opening.
You have exposed the fact that you are a CRIMINAL.
You are also STUPID.
Didn't you read the numerous warnings at my website saying that I don't want to hear from you PESTS?
Why don't you get your mamma to read it for you, JERK? Also, have your lawyer explain to you that email stalking and harassment is a CRIME in the USA. Talk to your lawyer about it there in Australia, STUPID, if you even know what a lawyer is.
You are absolutely out of your pathetic garbage mind if you think I care about your opinion.
Boom car boys are the most HATED people in America. ALL decent people hate boom car boys and loud "car audio enthusiasts." This is your future. It will happen in your country too:
